Why did my already blonde hair turn orange?

My hair is naturally a very light brown and I have been dying it a medium blonde for about 2 years. I recently decided I wanted my hair to be a lighter shade so I went to sally's and they recommended bleach. I bleached my hair last night but my already not-orange-at-all-blonde hair has turned bright orange. Why did it do this and what's the cheapest and least damaging way to fix it?

Your hair turned orange because you used bleach- you should of never bleached your hair- or better say listen to the dumb A** that told you that. You dont need bleach if your hair is already blonde - what the hell for??? You just wanted your hair a lighter blonde so thats all you needed "light blonde dye". Plus bleach kills all the natural oils in your hair- dyeing your hair does too but not as much as bleaching it. All you have to do is get the medium blonde dye you use to use for your hair before trying to dye it lighter, after dying it the color that it was- give it conditioner treatments at least 2-3 times for about 2 weeks %26amp; when dying it again JUST use a similar dye color that you want in your hair but a little lighter, so your hair can be the color you want. That will work, I never had any problems dying my hair to a color I always wanted- and my hair is black, thats the toughes color of hair to dye in a light shade.

Did you use bleach from the bottle. like Clorox? Your did you buy a hair bleaching kit. If you did use a bottle of bleach, go to the salon.

If you used a box, it probably had peroxide in it. If you still have to package check to see what the color is. If it says golden blonde on it go get an ash blonde. Or vise versa. I can only use ash blonde and my daughter can only use golden blonde. Other wise we end up the same way. A glowing brass color.

But sometimes it pays to get it done right. Then ask the styalist what kind of dye she used. And what you should use the nextr time your want play around with your color. In the end it will be well worth the money, and better for you hair.

Not Ash Blonde!! if you start with dark hair, Ash Blonde will make it have strange colored highlights like green or blue or gray. If you want to go blonde, try platinum or honey blonde. Those are very pretty colors I wouldn`t suggest going blonde though, maybe just a light Auburn or Caramel Brown. Those are also very pretty colors for that skin type. Good luck! Deep red Henna will look good if you don't go for the ash blonde, but I think it would look good if you did it as highlights and not a whole head.

Hi I watched an episode of the Tyra Banks show, she is a model or was a model if you dont know who she is ) and she looked gorgeous with light ash brown hair with ash/ beige streaks through it, and she has dark skin. So I think if you slightly lighten with highlights, would be great. Dramatic but soft if that makes sense. Beyonce does it too with her darker complexion so there must be a way, try taking a photo of someone in to the hairdresser and ask if they can do it. You'll probably find they can! It really depends on where you live and what kind of salon you plan to go to. In a small town, I've paid $140 for "color correction" and a haircut at the same time (which sounds like what you want). In a big city (like New York or Los Angeles), you could pay as much as $500-1000.

As for the stripping, depending on the method used to lighten the hair it is not always necessary, which is a bonus if possible - stripping the hair is highly damaging.

Call around your local salons, or pop into your local town centre and simple go into each one, ask what they'd recommend and ask about their prices. Don't feel embarrassed - a good salon will be eager to help you, and at the end of the day, if they're not polite about an inquirey, do you really want to trust them with your hair?

i have blonde hair on my stomach/lower back (not my butt) and i want to either get rid of it or trim it, at least make it less noticeable. it used to be less noticeable but now i'm tanned. i used to shave it but i got razor burn and it was embarrassing. you can't see from a distance but it bothers me. what can i do?

use a hair removal cream, i use one for sensitive skin-just in case, it is the gentlest way to remove hair, especially from these places, you experienced razor bun there bcause they are areas of skin that are not as tough as others, i drag a razor over my legs every morning but they are used to it, but these areas you describe are way softer, use a cream, it will take it away, quickly and effectively

Don't do it yourself thats my first bit of advice! My friend tried to dye her hair dark brown from blonde and it turned out mousey and it was stuck like that for a year. If you are doing it yourself, try a wash in wash out or semi-perminant. No commitments there! But if you do perminant, your hair will always be dyed in that area, even if it's dyed back to your natural blonde. Disadvantages are: it takes AGES to grow out (believe me, im in this process) and it can easily damage your hair.

If you don't like the color, you can't really just "go back."

It's pretty damaging to go back to natural (corrective coloring) and can get quite expensive.

Try a semi-permanent color, first. Go to a salon though - that way the stylist can help you pick a color that will look good on you so that you won't have the problem of disliking what you've chosen. If it isn't right, the stylist will redo it a week or two later.
