Well, I need some advice, I've read other topics, but I'm not convinced. I'm chinese and I naturally have black hair. I'm pretty light skinned and my friends want me to dye my hair blonde. I'm not sure if I want to go through the trouble of doing this, but any advice would be much appreciated. For you information, an asian with blonde hair isn't original. You probably all know the korean singer Hero, who either has or has had light blonde hair. I'm not sure if he still has it, but search dbsk or tvxq on google. I have a couple friends say I look somewhat like him, so the blonde might not be too bad.

Try bleach.

i would say just leave it, going from black, to the complete opposite is not good for your hair, plus its going to grow in and be very very noticeable, you would need to keep dying it at least every 2 weeks.

You risk turning your hair orange when dying black to blonde.
It's also very damaging to the hair, because maintaining the color means you may have to bleach it more often.

I'm assuming your a guy, with not so long hair. So go for it, normally I would say no, especcially for girls that have long hair, because the damage would suck since you cant just cut it all off, but have to deal with it for so long.

WHatever you do, definatly get it professionally done. With that big of a change, you really need a proffessional to do it for you, because it will be really easy to screw it up at home. And a professional could advice you on a good color and help you personally find the right shade.
Also going from black to lgiht blonde might be too drastic of a change. You should probably go with a medium brown the get used to it, then a darker/dirty blonde, then the lighter blonde, just to get used to it and see if you even like your hair a little bit darker.

no don't...NEVER!!!
you WILL look fake and look like you're trying to be a barbie or something. you're asian and even though you have light skin, it's going to be obvious you dyed your hair. some people will think you're trying to be white or that you're just superficial...you don't want that. try a shade of brown so it looks more natural like you were born with it.

the only way is to bleach it out then tone it .its very harsh on your hair and scalp plus with black hair you roots will show up in week or less .think long and hard about this cuz it looks very tacky growing out and is alot of upkeep.

Try placing some highlites in your hair and see if you like it or not. If it is not your style, you can always dye the entire hair black again.

whether or not blonde would look good on you isn't determined by the lightness or darkness of your skin, but by the undertones of it. take me for example. i have naturally brown hair and light skin. if i decided to go blonde, i'd have to be sure to choose a cool toned or ashy blonde to go with my fair skin and blue eyes. i definitely would not look good with golden or reddish blonde hair. i'd say don't do it unless you're really sure that it is something that you want to do, because it will be very damaging and there is a good chance that you could end up with orange hair. to help you decide, go to websites like lorealparisusa.com or clairol.com and register for free because they have things on their websites that allow you to upload a photo and "try on" different haircolors and such. normally these are meant for females (i would hope you're male if your friends are comparing you to a male singer), but it doesn't really matter.

Leave it alone. Your natural color will look better then blonde or orange.
