Dying blonde hair darker?

If I got my hair dyed pale blonde in February and now in September I am going to go for a medium brown will it turn green??? Ive heard that from a few people but I wanted to know if it was really true because until today I have never heard that before. If so what can I do to prevent it? I want some of the blonde left in it so I figured a Full Foil of lowlight medium brown. Advice?

You are doing the right thing by going to a salon and getting a true professional to do it as we are trained in that . What normally happens is your stylist will consult with you on what colour you want once a shade of brown is chosen.

Depending on how blonde you are they will fill your hair with a red based colour then put the brown on after that has been on . Buy putting a red in your hair it wont go green but you may end up with a slightly warmer brown that's all. If you leave some foils in there of your blonde that will look great.

Also ask your hairdresser what are the best products that they can sell you to upkeep your colour.

HAHa.. I just went from blond to chesnut tonight! I did it myself with Clariol and my hair looks great! I had blonder hair at the ends and they seem to be a tad darker then what is closer to the root, but overall it is a great look. Best of luck, but to answer your question... I have no green hair!

i think that only happens with certain shades. It shouldn't happen if your getting it done darker but the best advice from me to you would be to go where you're intenting to get it done then do a tester with the colour you want on the inside hair at the back. That way you can make sure that it wont counterreact. Or just ask your hairdresser about it...they shud knw! Hope that helped!

i think your hair only turns green when u go to the pool (b/c of the Chlorine in the water). when i got my hair dyed last, i waited about a week before i went swimming. and it was okay.

If your stylist knows what they are doing then know your hair wont turn green, they should have on record the previous colour you have used and what level you are at and which level you are trying to reach. I've had a friend who had no problem going from blonde to dark brown but going back to blonde was where it got complicated. Do a Test Strand in the middle back of your hair is what i suggest so that you can see the results on a very small section of your hair that can be hidden if it doesnt look they way you want.

I think blonde is perfectly ok. I am not like others who believes in all those silly myth about having blonde hair. A fact is a fact. You can't change a fact by changing the colours of your hair. I think blonde hair looks nice on professionals. I hate artificial colours on hair. What I'm saying is that I don't particularly discriminate people with blonde hair. Once again, I do not rely on the colours of the hair when making important decisions but rather all the relevant important factors associated with the circumstances.

Try to avoid shades of browns that contain ash as a base as this is what will throw the green tone, this can be easily counteracted by using a violet toner IE magic silver white. However a good hairdresser will know all of this so pick a good one and ASK questions before going ahead.

PS I am naturally an ash blonde which is a darker shade of blonde and I get blonde foils to highlight and lighten

Have a hairdresser who has done this many times before because I know of hairdressers who have mucked up friends' hair attempting this. Either they did not "fill" the hair first or use a neutral or ash shade so it looked hideous, straight away or after about a dozen washes.

Have a consultation before you make an appointment to be sure they really know what they are doing.
