MY HAIR!! Blonde- roots turned bright yellow! HELP?

I have normal, very light blonde hair. I tried to save some $$ by touching up my light brown roots myself- I went to Sally Beauty Supply and got 20 volume developer and "high lift neutral blonde" in a little bottle. I used about half the bottle of the color and mixed it with developer. I also have some powder stuff that says "lifts up to 5 shades, mix with developer, neutral color"

My roots did not bleach to light enough, they are BRIGHT and yellow! Blue shampoo I used did nothing. I am freaking out.

What do I do? I have to be somewhere tonight! Sally beauty supply is closed.

hmmm that sucks u should try slicking ur hair back %26amp; holding it w/ a thick hair wrap to cover the roots but it shouldnt be too noticeable. idk its worth a shot it MIGHT cover those roots. GOODLUCK! oooo just wear a hat if all else fails

Well there's chemicals in the hair stuff. It's normal for the color to change overtime. Probably like a week later or so you'll see normal results. It's normal.

If you're freaking out about it, just wear a hat to cover it. It's chily outside anyway, so you have an excuse to wear one.

I think it's called rou - it's in the hair dye isle at the drug store... It's in a tall grey bottle that resembles a shampoo bottle...This is a toner, get one for blonde, this will cut out the brassiness and paleness... Put it in your hair like a leave in conditioner as many times as needed. (I have done this personally) OR run to the drugstore and buy BLONDE hair dye, like herbal essence... (I have done this too, lol).... If all else fails go brown again and start lighting back up with highlights!

u should have just used a box....like loreal.........go to the drug store or walmart and pick up the lightest shade...it should work....but it will take a few shampoos/days to get the color to tame down actually.

you used the wrong developer. you needed 40, which is 4 levels of lift. 20 volume lifts you only 2 shades which makes it orange yellow. go back and get a level 10 and 40 volume, use a squeeze bottle and do just your roots..about 10 minutes, and watch it. it will tingle. this will make it a little better. also buy violet toner and tone your roots. 20 minutes. you should of went to a hairdresser! after all is done, the money your spending to fix your box mess would of cost the same at a salon! it's not as simple as people think! good luck baby, just remember the color wheel you learned in grade school...it will always fix your dye problems.
