I have blonde hair (dyed) and want brown foils.. but they washed out last time after 3 weeks!.. why?

I have very blonde hair (unnatural) and I recently had some light ash brown foils- which washed to nothing 3 weeks after. I'm going to the hairdresser on Sat to get a full head of blonde %26amp; brown foils again.. the brown to break it up a bit and make it look more natural..

She said that if we make the brown darker it will stick better and less chance to wash out... how is this so?

Is there something she can put in the dye to make it stick? P.s my hair throws a lot of gold and red so I always need a lot of ash when I go..

I thought that brown would stick to blonde well because its porus and absorbs colour easy?

Your hair might be very porous due to the bleach used to lighten it.

Because you need to know a really really gay hair stylist not one of those streight ones that pretend to be gay! No I am not a gay hairstylist my mom is one of the best hairstylists in town. But to answer your question first of all you need to bleach out your hair. Bleaching causes the hair pours to open up which allows penetration of pigment. You need to dye with the darker color first because it takes more pigment to fill the pours. You need to use foiling. First dye your hair dark then where you want the blonde put foils in between the dark hair or you can use a cap and pick and pull out the hair strands you want blonde and color them.

Your hair can react to it different. When you go to the hairdresser aske them if they know why. Also you can try different stuff, because it can react different.

the same thing happend to me! you have to get a darker color. at first, it'll look strange to you but it will fade just like the first time. since your hair is damaged from the bleach, the dark color isn't sticking as well as it would if you had dyed your natural color.

I have my hair dyed blonde with brown hilights (foil) %26amp; it lasts for approx. 4 mo.

It shouldn't wash out if it's a permanent dye.

I would question this, perhaps she is using a semi permanent

dye that is short lasting.
