My golden blonde hair got a green tint when i dyed it brown! help!?

My hair is naturally dark blonde, and i have had it dyed a light golden blonde for about half a year now. I decided i wanted to go brown, so i did... and it turned green!!! I went to a salon, and they saved it. .. kind of. It still has green in it though. I don't know what to do! help! Also, how do you get your natural hair color back?

Don't put another permanant colour on as it will ruin your hair but you can put a toner on in a brown colour and this may just get rid of the green. Good luck

Go to walgreens and get a product called Color Opps hair color remover

Cover your hair with tomato ketchup and leave it on for appro'x 10 min's. Wash well and condition as usual. Hey presto, no green!

I would wait for it to grow out.

I don't think there is much else you can do.

it won't do your hair much harm to put anohter colour on it, you need to use one with golden tones to ensure no greeness! if you chose a golden brown then it won't go green i promise, is studied hairdressing for 2 years!

the ketchup idea will work for a short term fix!!

When you dyed it blonde you removed the natural red in your hair, yes, everybody has some red in their hair. When it was dyed brown it should have had a pre-pigmentation mousse put on it to replace the red. Brown dye contains blue, blue plus yellow equals green. That's why your hair has a green tinge, go back to the salon %26amp; they should correct it for free. As for your natural hair you will just have to let it grow back. A good salon can get it very, very close to your natural colour though, that way your roots won't look so bad when it's growing back.

the reason that it went green is the fact that the colour that you put over your blonde simply didn't have enough red in it.(warm tones) there for it turned it greeny looking.it can happen both ways.some times if you colour over blonde and you use a really warm colour and your hair is already golden then it can go ginger.the only thing you can do is try and strip the colour out.you will have to go to the hairdressers again for this.they will use a bleach based product to try and strip it out.it may take a few attempts to get it to a colour that you like, but this wont leave you with your natural colour.hope this helps you. xx xx

Colouring your hair works in the same way as mixing paint, so if you've used an ash brown tint and it has turned green you can use a coppery brown tint and get a brown with copper in, or an auburn, and get an auburn-brown, or a chestnut which should turn your hair just brown. It's the ash colour in tints that turn your hair green (you can get ash tones in anything from a brown to an ash brown to a golden brown). To get back to your natural colour you have to go to a salon, or you could just add a lot of highlights to the brown and just grow your hair out ( not sure how well this last suggestion will work though, although it's probably what I would do LOL)

you might want to try to use the product swimmers use to get rid of the green tint caused by chlorine

to get your natural hair color back you just need to let it grow naturally. but for badly damaged/chemically treated hair, some will grow in a lighter shade but not too different from the natural color (you probably won't notice anything) but if you can't wait get your hair colored by a professional. choose the color closest to your natural hair color

Hi,

its gone green coz your hair was blonde and you have put a colour brown on it without a red hint it in thats why its gone green when going blonde to brown you always need a colour thats has a hint of red init otherwise that will happen.
